Restring=Recycle at Old Town School Music Store!

We’ve partnered with D’Addario’s Playback program to offer in-store string recycling for all stringed instruments!

Drop-off old steel or nylon strings anytime we’re open, and know your strings’ life cycle is just beginning. Additionally, any in-store restrings will recycle customers’ old strings.

Once collected, the metal and nylon strings are cleaned and separated by material type. The materials are recycled by TerraCycle into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products. 

As players, we’re committed to continuing to be the best restringing service in Chicago.

As people, we couldn’t be prouder to recycle each of the hundreds of strings we change every month.
